Each area of origin in Sicily’s has characterized by distinguishing features. The western region of Sicily is marked by higher concentrations, harshness and earthy volcanic toughness. The central area is known for producing the sharp tastes of red fruits. The eastern area produces a more refined taste, with an aftertaste of dried fruits The Nero D’Avola grape is one of Sicily’s most commonly known and exported grapes. In fact, it’s one of Sicily’s most talked about and well-known wines! Harvested in the lower regions, this bright red grape (think cherry or ruby red) is strongly reminiscent of blackberries. Rich and fragrant, the Nero D’Avola grapes create a dry, warm and full-bodied flavor.

This refreshing white wine is a blend of Grillo and Carricante. Light bodied and crisp, this wine displays aromas and flavors of stone fruit and melon.
The name of this wine comes from the originally spoken Sicilian term ‘feud’oro’ which loosely translates to ‘golden feud’. The name represents the ancient feuds (during medieval times) to control the land. Over time, the use of the adjective "d'oro" became restricted to the area of Marsala (in western Sicily), so we now simply say 'feud'o'.
Tifeo Rosso is a translucent ruby which borders on garnet red. Subtle aromas of cherry and raspberry mix with bolder scents of tobacco, brushwood, leather, and dark chocolate, finishing with a provocative mineral freshness.
This delicate, coppery salmon hued Rose of Nerello Mascalese offers aromas and flavors of just-ripened strawberry, watermelon and tropical fruit. Bright acidity and a refreshing finish make this the perfect wine to pair with light dishes such as a caprese salad or charcuterie.
Named for Tifeo, a divine creature in Greek mythology who was half human and half dragon. Tifeo’s wings lay between Messina and Syracuse, his tail underneath Naples, and his heart under Mount Etna.
Alicant has a rich, ruby color. Its intense notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant, and plum are enhanced by the subtle aroma of cocoa powder. With a ripe, balanced palate, this captivating red boasts a long, persistent finish.
An easy drinking red blend of Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese. These native Sicilian grape varieties produce powerful yet fruit forward wines and are renowned for producing many of the best Sicilian wines. Nero d’Avola is one of the oldest Sicilian grape varietals and Nerello Mascalese is considered to produce many of the best Sicilian wines, particularly when grown along the slopes of Mount Etna.
This fresh, aromatic, unoaked white blend of Carricante and Cataratto is crisp with minerality and aromas and flavors of spring flowers and citrus.
Named for Tifeo, a divine creature in Greek mythology who was half human and half dragon. Tifeo’s wings lay between Messina and Syracuse, his tail underneath Naples, and his heart under Mount Etna. Tifeo was thought to have temporarily disabled the Greek God Zeus, who was later rescued by his son Hermes.
This complex Nerello Mascalese (Sicily’s star grape) is made with fruit from 40 year old vines in our Mount Etna vineyards. Layered yet elegant and fresh with red berry and rhubarb, hints of rose hips, and a touch of smoke.
This wine is our territorial namesake. In fact, our winery’s address is Contrada Petto Dragone!
The spumante has a golden straw yellow color emphasized by a perlage that is fine and persistent. The primary sensorial attributes include quince, broom, jasmine, and aromatic herbs, with notes of coconut, hay, and hazelnut. The palate is fresh and delicately salty, with a pleasant and long finish.
Fell in love with Gambino wine after visiting the vineyard and enjoying several varieties along with delicious cheeses, etc. This was the first time I tried this particular wine and it was fantastic. My husband and I found it to be smooth, subtle flavors, and great paired with our Valentine's dinner. Will definitely purchase this one again.

balanced nero d'avola
We tried the Duvanera while enjoying at wine tasting at the Gambino winery and ordered a case. We are big fans of nero d'avolas. The Duvanera is rich and balanced. As another reviewer mentioned, it pairs beautifully with food and is delicious as a glass on its own. The wine is "big" but it is not overpowered by either tannins or fruit. We will order more!

Great red wine.
When my wife and I visited Gambino winery in 2018, we did the wine tasting. We had a white, a red and a Rose. All 3 of these wines were fantastic. This wine fits the same mold, is also a great selection.
